Dalwhinnie has a little bit of everything, peat, honey and backbone. A classic malt for everyone. A wholemeal and honey quality to the nose and the odd smoky tangent. A sweet, fruity core and a long round finish. Some of Dalwhinnie's complexity is from the water, sourced from Allt an t'Sluie Burn, some is from the traditional worms and the two stills and yet I feel sure that the altitude and weather must also play their part. The young spirit is aged in Ex-Bourbon casks for 15 years before bottling.

An interesting drop. The Peat flavour though mild is unexpected considering I do not favour peaty whisky but once poured over ice & left for a few minutes, it sweetens in taste and becomes a suprisingly very pleasant drop that ai enjoy. This is why it is my second go at this Single Malt.
You know those friends you haven't seen for a long time and within seconds you're both right back where you left off. This is one of those scotches. Your brain has instant recognition when you find the subtle notes of this rich smoky Highland.
PS, Whiskey and more beats every single winery box I've ever had delivered by at least three days. Well done ladz.
Extremely nice single malt that's smooth and easy on the palate, mixed with a little drambuie makes it even smoother. He always takes it at room temperature, no water, no ice. Whiskey and More are do easy to order from and the delivery is very quick. Cheers, merry Xmas
