Glen Moray is a classic Speyside single malt whisky owned by Glenmorangie. Glen Moray is a quality malt whisky from the heart of Speyside. Ex bourbon barrels are sourced from North America to mature Glen Moray and these produce a whisky with rich and spicy characteristics. These casks deliver a superior product that has a smooth and well-rounded taste.

Colour: Mid-golden

Nose: At full strength, the aroma is sweet, fruity and floral, exceptionally well-rounded and balanced in flavour, characteristic of this classic Speyside single malt. The first impression is of Highland toffee and candy floss with honeycomb and sweet malt notes. Herbal top notes are discovered with heather and brambles.

Taste: As befits a classic Speyside malt, the taste is smooth, warming and rounded with a good firm body. Lots of sweet, soft malty flavours evolve in the centre of the palate, surrounded by toffee and mouth watering fruits (blackcurrants and dried apricots). Boiling sweets reach the roof of the mouth before the emergence of liquorice, tea and nut oil.

Finish: Toffee, blackcurrants and a hint of liquorice remains into the finish which is medium in length.

I have not opened this yet, but it is my second purchase of this whiskey so I expect it to be up to my suitable taste and standard

This whisky is one which I keep in my standard range. It is a fine tasting whisky and represents Glen Moray well. I find this whisky to be sweet and smooth and typical of the whiskys I enjoy. As a speyside and blended fan I find this whisky enjoyable.

I was first persuaded to try the Glen Moray 12-year-old after reading a number of reviews which prays that highly.

So perhaps my disappointment as a function of expectations that had been unrealistically raised. What I liked about the Whisky is that the addition of a small amount of water smooths out the sharpness of the liquor and makes it a pleasant experience. However not, in my view, one that I would care to repeat.

I would drink this whiskey again if it was offered to me.

I'm unlikely to purchase a bottle for my own consumption.
