Not bad.

Smooth, less layered with contrasting flavours compared to JWB. This is great for drinking straight or on the rocks whereas with JWB you could highball is without losing the intensity.

For the same/less money, you could get a glen moray variant which is better structured on the palette.

Holds it's own against the single malt brigade

A nice rich whiskey, with a smooth finish. Subtle smoke/peatiness. Many blended whiskeys seem a bit flat, but JW double black isn't that. If you didn't know better you might think it was a Bowmore 10 y.o single malt.
Very nice I would certainly buy again.
