Commercial description
Vineyard: The grapes are hand picked from idllyic vineyards in the Awatere Valley and Upper Wairau Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand. The soils are ancient river beds with free draining stony soils and silty clay loams.
Viticulture: Vertical shoot positioned trellis was used with two canes pruned and spur pruning, laid down providing an average of 3 tonnes per acre. 45% barrel French Oak aged, total maturation was for 8 months.
Vintage: A long hot summer provided rich full flavours and great structure.
Food Matching: This wine is perfect with rich duck, lamb and beef, and partners up well with smoked salmon. Palate: Juicy berry and dark cherries combine with a rich savoury spice on the palate following into structured tannins and a long dry finish.
Variety - 100% Pinot Noir.
Colour - Dark ruby colour, this wine is very attractive in the glass.
Aroma - Rich wild berries with a spicy clove and cinnamon nose.
