Commercial description
TeKiwi 100% Blue Agave Spirit is made from the same plant as Mexican Tequila (Agave Tequilana Weber Blue) with exactly the same age-old process but you will not find the word ?Tequila? on our hand-blown glass bottles. That product name is protected by Consejo Regulador del Tequila and reserved for use by Mexico. That is why our spirit from New Zealand is called, TeKiwi 100% Blue Agave Spirit.
Kiwi Spirit Distillery spent years unravelling the traditional Tequilana plant growing and distilling process?s and recipe, while taking meticulous care to keep to the true essence of the spirit. Unlike Mexico where the Agave is grown on high plateau volcanic soil, New Zealand offers richer soil at sea level in an almost island-type environment resulting in a subtly unique taste of the New Zealand terrior.
There is a limited release of 300 bottles a year, each signed by master distiller Terry Knight and presented in a beautiful hand blown glass bottle. TeKiwi 100% Blue Agave is a true expression of New Zealand grown Weber Blue Agave Tequilana Spirit.
