Famous Grouse Smoky Black 700ml

More bite than Connemara Peated. It sits below Lagavulin's 16yo. Just the thing for us budget concious imbibers.

It's a bit smoky and woody (peaty). Smooth - for sure. Best budget scotch in 2024. The smokiness negates the grainy taste in the regular and sherry grouse and gives weight to the drink.

Not a malt. This is an enjoyable Blended Whisky. Being Smokey on the palette it is a good transition from blended to malts whisky without being overpowering. A good introduction to the smokeyness of a malt. It is like hearing the sound of far off bagpipes across Rannoch Moor, through the morning mist in subtle waves as the smokeyness swirls around on the pallet. This whisky has the slightest hint of the smokeyness of a malt without being overpowering. Enjoy this "Famous" blend!
