Buffalo Trace is a really classy bourbon from the eponymous distillery that has been responsible for some truly outstanding products in recent years. A must-stock for any bar worthy of the name and probably the best all-rounder at the price.
Spicy and sweet on the nose with caramel, creamy toffee eclairs, hints of cinnamon, rum spice and cereal sweetness. On the palate, brown sugar, toffee apple, sweet oak, custard, oily espresso beans, a touch of chocolate-covered raisins and toasty wood. Good length finish with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee.

Really enjoyed this, great value for a 45% too. Sipped it neat, but also experimented with a small ice cube or 2 which as expected helped provide more smoothness.
Love the balance and the length . Some bourbons are overly 'sweet' - this one isn't.
Could plug away quietly at this one for some time....................
Have been lucky enough to visit the Buffalo Trace Distillery a few times, and been able to sample their many brands. The Buffalo Trace offering never disappoints. A great Whiskey to drink neat, with ice, or in a cocktail. The perfect all-rounder.
Just comparing the two, pretty hard to distinguish, the 45% has a bit more proof on the nose but very similar taste, more buttery in the 40, more caramel in the 45
So easy to drink. Maybe a bit too easy but super smooth
