$64.00
Knowledge and expertise of more than 140 years is at the heart of the House ofGabriel Boudier. A name that is now renowned worldwide. Since its foundation in 1874, Gabriel Boudier has invented and diversified into a range of exceptional products that delight enthusiasts of cr?me de fruits as well as liquers.
Sloes (prunus spinosa) are the blue black fruit of the wild black thorn and cluster like tiny plums in hedgerows and thickets in the European countryside. Sloe Gin is a compounded drink made by steeping sloes in gin.
Picked after the first frosts, the wild sloes from the sloe trees growing on all limestone plateaux are macerated whole in gin previously distilled by Gabriel Boudier. All the aromas and the colour of the flesh and stone of the sloe dissolve in the gin. After maceration, a carefully controlled amount of sugar is added to obtain this traditional liqueur, whose origin dates back to British household traditions.
Clear, burgundy red in colour. Sloe berry fruit, raspberry jam, cracked black pepper & faint almonds aromas. On the nose is sloe and juniper with faint hints of citrus. On the palate is sloe and pronounced juniper with citrus, herbal and floral notes. Sweet and dry arriving at different points in the silky smooth taste and finish.
We highly recommend sipping it neat over ice. You could also try adding soda water or sparkling wine for a long cool drink.
