Commercial Description
The limited edition Plantation Black Cask 2023 was created from rums distilled on the island of Barbados (West Indies Rum Distillery) and in Venezuela (Destileria Sofa).
It is a blend of kettle and column rums made from molasses, which have been matured for several years in tropical bourbon casks and then in continental Ferrand cognac casks for a few more years. The resulting rum was bottled at 40% strength.
Aroma: very intense and fresh, initially with notes of honey, apple blossoms, steamed banana, lime and vanilla, followed by notes of coconut, coffee and almonds.
Taste: reminiscent of sweet pastry and is pleasantly fresh, initially with notes of caramel, plums and pears, followed by egg cream and nutmeg.
Finish: long and sweet, with notes of banana, lemon peel, tonka bean, caramel and cinnamon.
