South Island Single Malt, distilled from malted New Zealand barley, aged in American ex-bourbon barrels for 5 years. This non-peated single malt has been slowly maturing in our seaside bond store in Oamaru.

Deep honey comb and orange in colour. Well balanced with light fruity notes, soft spice and creamy malt flavours, this lovely single malt whisky is easy drinking and delicate. A pleasant wee drop to sip!

Nose: Sweet malted grain, tangerine & mandarine zest. Honey with a fine, mild vanilla.
Palate: Fat, slightly oily mid palate with caramel and light citrus fruits.
Finish: Long, smooth finish with soft spices.

Whisky with a great taste!

I bought two bottles one was a gift for my son for a late Christmas gift.
He is very picky about Whisky and fancies he knows what is good and what isn't.
He does not like " smokey" whiskies.
To my surprise picky though he is he rated this quite highly and it was very well received.
I tried my bottle and thought it was very good too.
To me it has a soft , well rounded and mellow taste with a hint of almost an orangey taste.
I did not think that I would taste a Whisky as good made in New Zealand to be honest and one of the reasons I bought it was because it was unusual in that it was not made in Scotland and I wanted to get a Whisky that I know my son would not have tasted before.
I still bet that a Scotsman brewed it!

Very happy with this whiskey for a local NZ brew, pity the bottle is only 500ml.
