Glenfarclas 15YO 700ml

Glenfarclas 15yo is my go-to whisky. I have been ably and regularly supplied with this product by Whisky and More and would always choose to deal with this organisation based on their attention to price and service.
In New Zealand there is no-one to equal Whisky and More.

Lovely example of a sherry finished speyside whisky. Rich and fruity. Similar to Arberlour and Glendronach. Would buy again.

Bought it 3 years ago. Thought I would open it for a really special occasion. Opened it last week and had 2 drams. Used a glencairn globulet as well for full effect. It is a really really good whisky. Thick, rich and layers of flavour. But leave it in the glass too long or add some water to aid oxidation and it gets a hot pepper finish which reminded me of some of the bourbons. Overall, it's a fantastic whisky. But if was spending over a 100 bucks again on a bottle, I would try something else.

I like Glenfarclas very much and use the 15 as one of my base line whisky's when comparing different distilleries, styles etc.

This is a great value 15YO single malt that delivers what it says on the bottle.

Giving it about 5 minutes in the class and gentle warming in the hand allows some of the alcohol forward notes to rise off so that you can get to the robust sherry nose.

The palate gives more of the sherry as well as some orange / citrus notes and a musty base note.

The flavours stay with you and its a great slow sipper.
