1st Night Mead celebrates the mountain foraged honeys and pristine rivers of the East Cape. We have been producing mead in this region for over 20 years. (not long really considering mead has been brewed in NZ for close on 200 years). All honeys are proudly from our hives.

WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Mead is fermented from honey rather than grapes and is one of the worlds oldest fermented beverages. All sugars from the honey are converted to alcohol creating a dry wine that we then back blend with Manuka honey and age with French oak to
achieve a deliciously unique flavour.

OCCASSIONS
?as an aperitif over ice its perfect, and as a pairing for cheese, nuts ?sensational. This mead has been produced as a food wine and pairs fabulously with spicier dishes, white meats, poultry and fish.
