Kemp Road Taonga Bordeaux Blend 2013 750ml
Only
$43.99
Commercial Description:
Taonga is the te reo Maori word for “Treasure” or “Wealth” – referring to the wealth of the land our artisan winemakers are bestowed with to craft the greatest of wines, and especially in a generous, even bountiful vintage such as 2013.
All varieties were harvested separately from vineyards around Gimblett Road. The fruit was de-stemmed with minimal crushing and transferred to closed fermenters. Warm fermentation on skins for maximum colour, aroma and flavour extraction. Aged in French and American barriques for 18 months. Fined with egg white.
Tasting Note: This 2013 Cabernet-Merlot-Malbec blend from Gimblett Road, Hawke’s Bay, is powerful, open and enveloping, with vibrant red fruits and an opulent, silky texture. From a historically great vintage in the region, it expresses the spirit of a very special piece of land, and the craft of its artisan winemaker.
13.5% ABV
